ASK
a new logo and accompanying assets for Zoom and PPT
Situation
COPHy (Controversies in Ophthalmology) is an annual congress with an established brand — including a logo with a rainbow bar as a key visual element.
They wanted to launch a webinar series under "COPHy Webinars" that felt consistent with the main congress brand, but also distinct enough to stand on its own.
The timeline was tight: ~3 days for the initial request, with additional asset asks coming afterwards.
Approach
I started with the existing COPHy logo and explored three options for adding the word "Webinars." Working with the creative director, I decided to echo the rainbow bar by setting "Webinars" in rainbow colors, then experimented with different type treatments to integrate it smoothly.
Because of the tight timeline, the creative director instructed me to build initial PowerPoint and Zoom assets using my first logo option as a placeholder. Once the client finalized their choice, I swapped in the correct logo. This meant the client could review look/feel immediately — no waiting around for logo approval.
Deliverables included:
Zoom page banner + virtual backgrounds
PowerPoint template, including:
Cover slide
Content slides
Agenda slide
Speaker list slide
Section intro with featured speaker
Impact
Zero-revision logo – The client chose option two immediately, saving review time and keeping the tight schedule intact.
Parallel workflow worked – The creative director's placeholder strategy meant PowerPoint and Zoom assets were ready for client review before the logo was even finalized.
Handled raster limitation – The original logo was an image file, not a vector. Color picking from the rainbow bar was straightforward, and I worked within what was provided without delay.
Built for a series – The branding was designed to support multiple future webinars (though I don't know if they continued using it, the system was ready).
