PPT design, branding
ASK
a scientific PPT template for survey results and analysis
Situation
OCTFx is a multi-sponsor group dedicated to conducting studies using the Delphi methodology (iterative expert surveys to build consensus). Their specific focus was age-related macular degeneration and geographic atrophy, exploring ways to measure disease progression.
The client services team needed a PowerPoint template to present survey results and analysis to stakeholders. The only branding provided was a new logo for the OCTFx endeavor.
Approach
With a limited timeframe (a few days), I extracted a two-color palette directly from the logo and quickly built two template options using:
Generic but relevant imagery (eye images — avoiding disease-state specifics — plus a target graphic for objectives slides)
Icons to demonstrate an "icon slide" example
Dummy content and slide layouts similar to previous scientific decks I'd worked on
Slide types included:
Cover slide
Section dividers
General content slides
Graph slides (critical for survey data)
Objectives slide
After collaborating with the creative director on revisions, including the subtle gradient background to add visual interest without distracting from the content, the team chose the second option.
Ongoing use: I later formatted two full decks using this template — one for each of the two rounds of survey responses required by the Delphi process.
Impact
Brand consistency from minimal assets – With only a logo to start, I created a complete, professional template that worked for a multi-sponsor audience.
Scientific-ready layouts – Graph slides and a clean, non-distracting design meant survey data could be presented clearly.
Reusable system – The template supported two rounds of Delphi survey decks, proving it was flexible enough for iterative content.
Team satisfaction – The client services team consistently appreciated having better-looking decks.
